We can’t tell you how proud and honored we are to have done all the photography work for Opera Columbus’ 2009 – 2010 season. One of the perks of having taken the photos used to promote the shows was tickets to the shows themselves as well as photographic access to their dress rehearsals. We had the opportunity to shoot some photos for the Greatest City Of All who we met up with at Starwars in Concert at Nationwide Arena. It was an amazing concert and we were able to get some amazing shots! Take a peek.
We went to opening night of Shadowbox’s annual Holiday Hoopla show with friends visiting from out of town. If you’ve not been to one of their shows, you’re really missing out, and Holiday Hoopla is especially good. Read our full review of this show at Greatest City of All. Once again, we were asked to photograph The PEP Talks, and once again we were inspired. This is an event we love being associated with, and how fun is it that we get to take pictures too! Check out a few of our favorites from this quarter’s event.
We recently sponsored Magic, Comedy & A Cure featuring the talented and funny Micheal Kent at BoMA, hosted by the Columbus Collective to raise money for cancer research. BoMA is a fantastic venue, and the show was quite a success. Not to mention, the pictures came out pretty nice, if we do say so ourselves. We were recently asked to follow Opera Columbus‘ outreach program as they performed Engelbert Humperdinck’s opera Hansel and Gretel at local elementary schools. Through this program, Opera Columbus offers schools a one-hour, in-school student workshop on the day of the performance and helps up to 30 students perform as part of the chorus. Here are our favorite shots of the pre-show backstage and performances from just 2 of the schools we visited with them. We were asked to sponsor The PEP Talks again by shooting their Spring ‘09 event. There was a great turn-out, and just like the January event, the speakers had inspiring messages for anyone entering the job market or considering starting a company. We delivered just under 700 final images in under a week! Here are a few that we really loved.
We met Jared when he spoke at The PEP Talks in January, and enjoyed his live performance so well that we bought one of his discs, which we listened to over and over while we processed the pics from that event. We knew then that we’d be going to this show, and can’t thank Jared enough for the opportunity to get backstage (and in some cases, ON stage!)

The PEP Talks (PEP stands for Passion, Experience, People) are recurring speaking engagements that showcase local professionals who are passionate about what they do and are eager to share their wisdom with students. We were asked to come photograph their first event. The talks were inspirational, even to those of us well out of school, and we were honored to be involved and glad for the opportunity to network with other local professionals.
