Volunteers of America of Greater Ohio

Wanna be inspired? Check out this annual report we photographed for Volunteers of America of Greater Ohio – VOAGO. Read here about John and his son Joshua who says, “Volunteers of America is a ray of hope and sunshine in our lives. They taught me how to be a better parent and a better person.” Or, you can read about Tom, Cory or the McCloud family, all of whom touched our hearts as they shared their stories on picture day.

Kendyl & Cayden – Summertime Fun!

These two cuties were back for their third photo shoot with us, this time at the Whetstone Park of Roses where we had a great time playing in the giant sandbox at the play ground. Here are the ones we just had to share!

Here’s what mom had to say the day after the photos were delivered…

I can’t express to you how much I LOVE the pics. So many people have complimented on them already. And I’ve past your info on to a few.

See you again in the late fall for another round!

Erika’s Senior Session

We recently received a call from Erika’s mom, who asked us to come to her high school and do some year-end senior portraits for Erika. Having worked with both the school and its drumline students before, we were thrilled to go back and try out some different techniques – including the fun composite of Erika with each of the instruments she played over her four-year high school drumline career!

Natalie and Joe’s Engagement Session

For their engagement shoot, Natalie and Joe wanted something as fun as they are, so we spent a couple of hours following them with our cameras as they enjoyed the Columbus Zoo. These are definitely some of our favorites of all our engagement shoots, so we can hardly wait for their wedding day…

The Deckers

The Decker family received a gift certificate for our services from one of our other clients, and we agreed to meet at the Franklin Park Conservatory when they were ready. Spring finally sprung and so off to the blooms and butterfly exhibit we went. Check out these lovely family, toddler and baby photos.

GroovyTip: What do your corporate pictures say?

We don’t often post content from other sites, but this article from the Fair Trade Photographer was too well done to pass up. The author was looking up a website for a company he was intending to do business with when he came across the following image:

bestoftheweb

Fair Trade Photographer writes, “They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Well, this one has a lot to say. It says microstock… The problem with this image is that it has that…. ‘Deja Vu’ feeling to it, and for a good reason.” They then go on to display not one, but over ten different sites where this exact same image was used, and discuss how consumers who see this end up questioning the credibility and worth of those companies based on their associations with one other. In several instances, the photo was used in the About Us section of the companies’ sites, bringing the writer to say, “I don’t believe these people really work at [Company XYZ]… so why would I trust anything else that [Company XYZ] has to say?”

All valid points, and easily avoidable by bringing in a photographer to capture your corporate photos, even if you’re using stock images to convey to the photographer the style of photos you want of your associates and organization. So kuddos to Mosaic Cleaning, KeyBridge Medical Revenue Management, Information Control Corporation, Cardinal Orthopaedic Institute and the many other organizations we’ve worked with over the past four years. Thanks for letting us capture the genuine spirit of your organization!
